What You Need To Know

An Important Message from Dr. John Whitsitt: Daytona’s foremost expert on mini dental implants.

What You Need To Know About Mini Dental Implants

Mini dental implants can be confusing.

I want to give you the inside track to making a good decision should be considering them.

Tooth loss is a big deal. Any number of different issues can cause it. No matter the reason, missing teeth need to be replaced.

Thankfully dental implants have become one of the preferred methods to solve the problem. However, regular dental implants are not a good option for everyone.

Mini implants are a significant part of our business.

A lot of our patients consider Atlantic Coast Prosthodontics ‘The Center for Mini Dental Implants,” since I’ve performed so many of these procedures.

What Exactly Are Mini Dental Implants

As the name implies, mini implants are a smaller version of regular implants.

Typically, to be considered a candidate for traditional dental implants, you must have sufficient bone mass in your jaw. It’s important to know that tooth loss causes bone loss, turning the situation into a vicious cycle.

Mini implants will help you avoid the need for a bone graft, which requires several months of healing.

Mini implants consist of a tiny titanium rod, approximately the diameter of a toothpick. Instead of being capped with an abutment, mini implants are created with a small ball on the exposed end. This provides an anchor for the elastic O-rings that attach your teeth to the implant.

Advantages of Mini Implants

CONVENIENT

Much easier process than regular implants

Office procedures can be completed much faster, sometimes one or two visits.

LESS DISCOMFORT

Easier on your mouth

Less disturbance to bone tissue.

Atlantic Coast Prosthodontics is not a processing center for dental implants. We never advertise “New Teeth in a Day,”… “Same Day Implants” …or “One-Plan-Fits-All” type procedures. I view this type of advertising as misleading. Your dental needs are unique to you. Every procedure we do is carefully evaluated and explicitly tailored to your personal needs, goals, and budget. Our position is pretty straightforward: Provide you with the absolute best dental care possible and still allow you to keep as many of your natural teeth as possible.
