Page 3: TMJ disorders are common. They occur when something goes wrong with your jaw joints or jaw muscles. Often times, this happens because of a jaw injury,inflammation such as arthritis, or overuse. Dr. Whitsitt treats a lot of patients who have oral facial pain in the tempomadibular joints. Patients with TMJ have one, or all three of these symptoms.
